I am standing in a field in southwest France.
My phone is in front of me in the grass.
A is standing in a field in southeast Scotland,
with his phone to his ear.
Our phones are connected.

A is speaking. My phone is on speaker. His voice emerges from the grass.
He articulates every detail he perceives around him.
He describes what is very close and then what is further away, until the horizon.

As A speaks, I start walking slowly backwards,
away from my phone,
until I can no longer distinguish his voice.
